    There are a lot of idiots out there

    My sister’s boyfriend is pretty awesome. He asked me why no one has scooped me off the market yet and is surprised because he thinks I’m “awesome.” In his words…”there are a lot of idiots out there.”

    I can’t seem to catch a break in the relationship department. Everything else in my life is working out great. I have an amazing family, great friendships, and a career. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy being single and being independent because I have grown tremendously, but it does get lonely sometimes. It’s a great fear of mine that I’ll end up alone. That doesn’t mean that I would commit myself to the next person I meet though. I’m not that desperate. To be honest, I know that a couple of guys at work like me. I can feel it in the way they talk to me, how they look at me, and most importantly, I feel it in my gut. I’m not necessarily going to pursue anything because I Feel like dating in the workplace can mess up a lot of things. For instance, I consider these guys friends. I don’t want to mess that up in any way. I enjoy joking around. I don’t ever want it to come to a point where we can’t be ourselves if things didn’t work out.

    I don’t really let being single consume me though. If I did, I would be an emotional wreck. There are plenty of things and plenty of people that make me happy :)

    One day, I’ll meet my soulmate and the amount of time I’ve waited for him won’t even matter.

    Life Update

    Life’s been stressful but fun at the same time. There’s been a lot more pressure at work, especially with me having to step up and train our newest team member. At the end of the day, it’s a good opportunity for me to experience project management and delegation. Work has also been pretty enjoyable, given the amount of young professionals in the company and all these fun activities we’ve been doing together. Every Thursday a group of us play volleyball after work and it’s a lot of fun. I’m not really one to play sports but when there’s a group of fun people that don’t take themselves too seriously, it’s bound to be a good time. I’m trying to convince everyone that we need to go to happy hour before we play though! Drunken volleyball, has a ring to it right?!

    Aside from work, life has been fun. I love having close friends live nearby. I don’t ever feel too lonely out here. There’s always somewhere new to go and new people to meet.

    Parents are coming up to visit me this weekend. Freaking hilarious because my refrigerator is pretty empty and I know they’re going to be worried that I haven’t been eating. Cracks me up thinking about what my mom is going to say to me. I’ve had an extremely busy week so I have been eating out almost every day. Honestly didn’t eat dinner from the past 2 nights because I’ve either been exhausted or lazy to do anything about it.

    Melatonin down the hatch. Haven’t been feeling 100% for the past couple of days so I’m looking forward to a good night of uninterrupted sleep.
